Marketing involves identifying customer needs and then satisfying those needs with the right strategies. With this perspective, the course considers how the assets of an organization can be used to create and deliver value to customers and shareholders. It will discuss the role of marketing in inception and implementation of high-level strategy, outlining various approaches to understanding consumers, markets, competitors and products. In essence, it will provide a strategic overview of how marketing interacts with its environment and other functional areas of a business.
